In the song,” U.N.I.T.Y” Queen Latifah addresses The song “Bitches Ain’t Shit”. She notify’s the female audience that they are not in fact bitch nor a hoe. She doesnt want women to get into the tpe of mindset where they actually degrade themselves into actually thinking that they are a bitch or a hoe.
Really Nicki!!! sneak dissing Lil Kim at B.E.T awards?? This beef has been going on for too many years now. nicki and lil Kim should just step up to the plate, be a bigger person, and congradulate each other’s achievements. Hating on people will not get you anywhere in life. But maybe its just for the popularity?
Queen B closed out the Grammys with “Take My Hand, Precious Lord,” but the performance sparked drama when fans were upset that R&B vocalist Ledisi was not chosen to sing the same hymn she recorded for Selma.
In Selma, Ledisi portrayed the late soul singer Mahalia Jackson to perform the gospel song written by Thomas A. Dorsey. Ledisi fans caused a Twitter uproar when they found out Beyonce was chosen to sing the song instead.
Entertainment Tonight‘s Kevin Frazier asked Ledisi about the drama on the Grammys red carpet, but the singer responded, “I don’t have a clue.”
“The song ‘Take My Hand, Precious Lord,’ it’s been going on forever,” said Ledisi. “It started with the queen Mahalia, the queen of soul Aretha Franklin, then I was able to portray and sing my version of the song and now we have Beyonce. Her generation will now know the song so I’m a part of history. I look it at like that instead of looking at it as a negative.”
“We were actually approached by Beyonce,” Legend told Frazier. “She wanted to do an intro to our performance and introduce us. You don’t really say no to Beyonce if she asks to perform with you.”
Ledisi coincidentally lost to Beyonce in the Best R&B Performance category. The pop star took the award for “Drunk in Love” over Ledisi’s track “Like This.”
This isn’t the first time that Beyonce has been criticized for singing a classic song. In 2009, singer Etta James said Beyonce “was going to get her a** whipped” for singing James’ “At Last” for Barack Obama‘s first presidential dance with wife Michelle. James later responded that she was joking.
While everyone else is in love with their boyfriend, I am completely in love with music! I would not function with out it. It’s my life. From the music industry’s drama to their #1hits; I know it all. I love all genres of music, but to narrow it down, i am mostly focused on R&B music. my first music artist that I had first connected with was Alicia Keys. Her music was very strong and powerful to me. For example, her hit “no one” was one of my favorites. I felt as if i had a connection to this particular song because it made of me think about my father. It reminded me of how my dad always told me how he had my back, and that meant the most to me because I always wanted to feel protected. You cant tell me anything about her that i don’t already know . So get in tune, and stay in tune! RnB touch ups gotchu…
Reality star and songstress K. Michelle let the world in on some brewing beef between she and fellow soul-singer Elle Varner, dropping big hints that Elle had swiped MMG rapper Meek Mill right from under her after a photo of the two looking pretty cozy hit the internet.
Elle also spoke on the infamous photo of she and Meek hugged up in the club last week and what she feels about K. Michelle calling her thirsty. “If anyone remembers the Meek Mill drama….and Meek saying I curved him and then it was like this big thing. So, that was our first time seeing each other since and we laughed it off; it was funny.
It got taken out of proportion so, whatever she took from that…..it’s just not my problem.”
obviously there is nothing going on so K Michelle just might have to take a seat and cool off.
